Stories… Stories are mysterious things—and delicious, too, just like… soups! That’s right, because for a story to be truly flavorful, it needs the right ingredients, chosen with care; the right amount of time to simmer, calculated with patience; but above all, good company with whom to share it! A quirky and magical cook will tell us about the encounter between a Hen and her most notorious predator, a Wolf… how scary!
But unexpectedly, the dangerous encounter will turn into a wonderful dinner—and suddenly, the other one isn’t scary anymore; all it took was taking the time to get to know him!
The production, still in development, draws inspiration from the famous picture book *Zuppa di Sasso* by Anäis Vaugelade, and from there has developed a narrative that uses physical theater and object theater as its primary means of expression. The story takes place inside a “special” kitchen, where a quirky cook manages to cook up recipes made of stories, gathering the ingredients from everyday life. Her day, however, will be interrupted by the arrival of a “stranger”—an unknown, unusual character who is somewhat unsettling precisely because she is “unknown.” But can we really judge what we don’t know?
The animals featured in the story were handcrafted using kitchen items—all of them, except for the one animal that comes from the mysterious “forest”: the Wolf.
The project has presented several studies and is continuing its research in collaboration with several schools in Modena as part of the “Memo—School-City Itineraries” project, sponsored by the City of Modena.
The premiere, for which no date has yet been set, is scheduled for 2027.
